The Challenge
The client's upcoming vehicle launch required a full campaign shoot — but the final production vehicle couldn't leave embargo.
Transporting it to the Eastern European location posed significant exposure risk. A single spy shot on set could compromise the global reveal.
They needed the campaign produced on schedule, with the brand team present for creative approval, without the vehicle ever appearing on location.
Our Approach
Shoot on location with a 'mule' vehicle (a stand-in of similar size), then replace it entirely with the new model in post-production.
This gave the brand team full creative control on set — approving framing, performance, and storytelling in real time — while the final vehicle design remained completely secure.

The Process
Pre-production:
Collaborated with director and DP on shot list and camera coverage using storyboards. Ensured mule vehicle provided accurate reference for lighting, reflections, and scale.
Developed the CAD model into a photoreal, camera-ready asset — matched to the final locked design.
Production:
Filmed as planned at the desired location—without the production vehicle ever leaving embargo. VFX team captured HDR environment maps and on set data
Post-production:
Integrated seamlessly into every shot—matching subtle movement, lighting, reflections, motion blur, and depth of field.
Designed, built, animated and composited the 3D drone and additional VFX.

Final vehicle design remained fully embargoed until official reveal. Zero exposure risk during the entire production
